ODOO'S FUNCTION
In Odoo, if a product is configured as Make to Order (MTO), Service subcontract, or Dropship, the system only generates Purchase Orders/Manufacturing Order after the corresponding Sales Orders are confirmed. While this ensures demand-driven procurement, it can be limiting in certain cases, as businesses may need to generate POs before confirming SOs—for instance, to negotiate pricing with suppliers or secure stock availability in advance.
CLUEDOO'S FUNCTION
CLuedoo introduces an enhancement by adding a button on the Sales Order that allows users to generate draft Purchase Orders/Manufacturing Orders before confirming the SO. This feature provides greater flexibility by allowing businesses to manage supplier negotiations, check pricing, and secure procurement without prematurely committing to a Sales Order. The generated POs remain in draft status, ensuring they can be adjusted or finalized as needed before full order confirmation.
1. Go to Products and create some products with these routes:
For MTO-Buy, Dropship, and Service subcontract products, make sure you add a vendor under Purchase tab on product form |   |
2. Create a Sales Order > Choose the products that you set up in step 1 > Generate PO |   |
3. You will see 1 MO and 3 POs created from the SO

4. They are all in Draft state |

5. Once the RFQ is confirmed, it becomes a purchase order, and a dropship receipt is created and linked to it. The receipt can be viewed by clicking the Dropship smart button in the top-right corner of the purchase order form. |

6. When you confirm the SO, a Delivery is also generated. |
